5/6/2023 0 Comments Ar ejectorThis is easy and quick and kinda fun almost. Instead of a (thick) paperclip you can also use a flathead screwdriver one of the real short ones but then take care not to damage the extractor. there inside the bolt under the extractor are tiny rails on each side on which the extractor rests when its installed.clean that too scraping with the paperclip or something like it. do this also: when you take off the extractor. Your be surprised how much comes out especially if you have shot the rifle a lot.ĭepending on how much time you have and how much you have shot. only when you have nothing else and it must be cleaned now) (in a pinch you could use your firing pin tip also.but its not really recommended. take one of the bigger paperclips and bend it so one end sticks out and use that to scrape under the "hook". and its often not taught as part of cleaningīrushes usually wont do the trick. Given that extraction problems are like 30% of all AR malfunctions this is a good idea but many folks dont do it at all. It looks like a "channel" and is the part that hooks onto the case. You also want to clean the area "under the hook" at the end of your extractor. Not sure if anyone else already said this. My rifle is a SHTF/Self-defence weapon, so for me keeping these things in check helps me know that my weapon will never fail me because I do my part to keep it clean/lubed. Not to mention I don't know the next time Im going to go shoot so it gives me some insurence knowing that my ejector is lubed a bit. And this way my lower stays clean and from time to time lubed a bit. I do it like every other cleaning session. And I don't do this all the time so oil doesnt build up. Mainly the springs, hammer and the selector switch is all I do. But I'll clean it with dry cotton swabs and using cotton swabs, add a bit of lube to it. I also add a bit of lube to my lower as well every now and then, I don't know if thats something you do. And I checked all my parts 2-3 times each just to make sure everything is good and they are, even did the stand up the bolt carrier thing, so my gas rings are also good. And the same thing is repeated for the second drop. I then worked it in a few times using the tip of a 5.56 round, the tip of the round slipped off a few times while trying to work in the oil but I guess thats what happens since the oil does make it a bit slippery and then when pushing down to get the oil in there theres just not enough grip so thats why it slipped a few times, but after working it in there several times like a toilet plunger from that point it goes in & out more smoother. I did go ahead and take out my BCG real quick and added a drop or 2 of oil to the ejector, and while I was at it, I relubed everything again since I did it once a few days ago but apparently firing a whole mag burned up all my oil lol.
